It's easy to worry about things that are out of our control. Whether you're worried about the past or the future, set that aside for a moment and focus on the present. Sit and close your eyes, then breathe through your nose to the count of four. Hold the breath while you count to seven, then exhale through your mouth to the count of eight. Breathing allows you to sleep better, controls emotional responses and lowers blood pressure. Make it a New Year's resolution to take five minutes (or more) out of your day to focus inward.
#3: Spend More Time Outdoors
Getting out into nature, breathing in fresh air and becoming more aware of your surroundings are important healthy habits to start this year.
